• Foreign & Commonwealth Office – includes a list of countries to avoid and there's a further list of those where you need to be vigilant, particularly in public areas. The site also advises what to do if things go wrong while you're abroad.
• United Kingdom Passport Service – providing information and online facilities for all aspects of application, renewal and amendment of passports for British nationals resident in the UK.
• Fit For Travel – a public access website provided by the Scottish NHS, providing travel health information for people travelling from the UK.

UK airport transfers – getting to the airport

Once you've booked the flight to your villa holiday destination you'll need to decide how you are going to get to the airport. Remember that it's sometimes just as cheap for a family or group to use an airport transfer service than use the car and pay petrol and parking charges.
